Monroe Co historians believe log section was built 1730-1740 and was on the road to Grey's Fort. The upstairs bedroom in this section has an original door and the fireplace bricks which were part of the original construction. House, Barn, and outbuildings appear to be built around the same time as the large house, turn of the 19th century, era 1910. House retains the 1910 vintage doors, square nails and wood used in construction. Handmade hardware made by blacksmith, original pattern tin roofs (circa 1910), nails, and design of barn and outbuildings indicate the first decade of the 19th century. Renovations around 1950 probably included the washroom, bathrooms and the back porch area. In the 1970s, carpet was added. Later, the wood on the right side of the house was replaced due to a honeybee infestation. 12. History of the Barn quilt decor. In 2011, the Guy family, made the wooden quilt sign to celebrate their mother's birthday. She loved ducks and cardinals, as displayed on the sign. The pattern name is Ohio Star.
